THE VIRTUOSO VIOLIN

The ‘Virtuoso Violin’ show, one of my most widely performed programmes, is a collaboration with violinist David Worswick that reinvents the ‘Virtuoso’ performance tradition for the 20th Century.

From the devilish virtuosity of Paganini and Wieniawski through to the contemporary work of Schnittke and Berio, this is a programme that is as daredevilish and thrilling as it is seductive and lyrical. Read More >>

Presented with pianist Daniel Swain, this programme includes two startling pieces of violin repertoire: Poulenc’s Sonata , and Stravinsky’s Duo Concertant , alongside smaller minatures.

These two pieces can be heard during our March/April 2009 tour, which takes place at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, and venues in London, Cheltenham and Bristol. Read More >> (soon)
