‘The Seasons’ is a new project for 2012, featuring contemporary and classical music for violin and strings, inspired by weather, ecology and daylight.

In May 2012, we’ll be performing the popular ‘Four Seasons’ of Vivaldi and the ‘Four Seasons of Buenos Aires’ by Piazzolla, as well as new music by Matthew Forbes.

We’ll then be introducing the music of several contemporary composers as they explore the sounds of the seasons around the world. Research and discussion about the calendar seasons, tropical seasons, storms, precipitation, and from different perspectives including meteorological, astronomical, and ecological, will feed into multidiscipline and educational work.

Check back soon to read more about this project, and keep an eye on the performances page for details of our 2012 concerts!
