alt-Classical, or ‘Alternative Classical’

The term ‘alternative Classical’ – or ‘alt-Classical’ for short – was coined by critic Greg Sandow back in 2003, but like any good meme, it’s taken a while to reach wide acceptance. But there’s definitely a movement afoot to adopt ‘alt-Classical’ as a recognized genre.
